Kimberley Grant of Greensboro is the latest player to win $100,000 playing the Mega Bucks scratch-off game.
Grant claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $69,251.
Grant bought the $5 ticket at the Hicone Stop on Hicone Road in Greensboro.
Mega Bucks launched in August 2015 with twenty top prizes of $100,000. Seven top prizes remain.
Ticket sales from games like Mega Bucks made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $634 million for the state last year. For details on how more than $207.8 million in lottery funds has made a difference in Guilford County, click on the “For Education” section of the lottery’s website.
