RALEIGH – Cassandra Covington’s numbers came up in Monday’s Cash 5 drawing, and Tuesday afternoon she came to lottery headquarters to collect the $155,309 jackpot. She bought the winning ticket, worth $107,554 after taxes, at Fiddlestix on Spring Forest Road.
Cash 5 players will have the chance to win a jackpot worth at least $100,000 during the Cash 5 $100K Days promotion starting Tuesday. The jackpot usually starts at $50,000. But, from Nov. 1 to Dec. 10, any Cash 5 ticket purchased for the drawings will have the chance to win at least $100,000. When the jackpot isn't won, it will grow each day until one or more tickets match all five numbers drawn.
Ticket sales for games like Cash 5 make it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for education. To discover how those funds make a difference in every county, visit nclottery.com and click on the “For Education” page.
