A lottery ticket sold at a Johnston County store won $1 million in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.
The ticket was purchased at the Speedway on N.C. 42 East in Clayton. It matched all five white balls drawn, which were 1-8-15-36-43. The yellow Mega Ball was 6. The ticket beat odds of 1 in 18.5 million.
A second Mega Millions ticket won $5,000 in the drawing by matching four of the white balls and the Mega Ball. That ticket was sold at the Sheetz on Benvenue Road in Rocky Mount.
The lucky winners have 180 days to claim their prize.
No one won Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot so Tuesday’s jackpot will grow to $67 million as an annuity or $39.7 million as a lump sum.
Tonight’s Powerball jackpot stands at $119 million as an annuity or $71.2 million as lump sum.
Ticket sales make it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for education. To discover how the funds support specific programs in every county, visit nclottery.com and click on the “For Education” page.
