For Sarah Wilson of Franklin, winning $4 million playing 100X The Cash means she can take her grandkids on a dream trip to Disney World.
Wilson is a cashier at the N&N Express Mart on East Main Street in Franklin. She said she bought the $20 ticket before her shift at work.
When she realized she won, she put her hands to her mouth and just stood there in shock.
“It’s still unbelievable,” Wilson said. “It’s really incredible. It doesn’t feel real.”
Wilson had the option of taking a $4 million annuity or a lump sum worth $2.4 million. She chose the lump sum. After required state and federal withholdings, she took home $1,662,006. She plans to take her two grandchildren to Disney World then use the rest of the money for retirement.
100X The Cash launched in March 2015 with three top prizes of $4 million and five prizes of $1 million.
Ticket sales from games like 100X The Cash made it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars for the state last year. For details on how over $12.3 million in lottery funds has made a difference in Macon County, click on the “For Education” section of the lottery’s website.
