Tin Tin Soe of Lumberton is the first player to win $400,000 playing the new $400,000 Bonus Cash scratch-off game.
Soe claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings he took home $277,001.
He bought the $5 ticket at the High School Liberty on Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.
$400,000 Bonus Cash launched earlier this month with four top prizes of $400,000. Three top prizes remain.
Ticket sales from games like $400,000 Bonus Cash made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million for the state last year.
