Carolyn Rice of Weaverville is the latest player to win $750,000 playing the Jumbo Bucks scratch-off game.
Rice claimed her prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings she took home $519,378.
She bought the $10 ticket at Stanley’s Citgo on Weaverville Highway in Asheville.
Ticket sales from games like Jumbo Bucks made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million for the state last year. For details on how more than $69.3 million in lottery funds has made a difference in Buncombe County, click on the “For Education” section of the lottery’s website.
