RALEIGH – A Powerball ticket someone bought for $2 at the BP Gas Center #12 on Market Street is worth $1 million.
The ticket beat odds of 1 in 11.7 million to match all five white balls drawn, which were 1-28-63-67-69.
Because no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot has climbed to a $50 million annuity, worth $33.6 million if claimed as a one-time lump sum.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Four North Carolina players have won Powerball jackpots.
Ticket sales help the lottery raise on average $1.7 million a day for education. To see how lottery funds have made a difference in every county in the state, visit the “For Education” page on the lottery’s website.
