Abby Drumgoole of Roxboro is the latest player to win the top $200,000 Carolina Black prize.
Drumgoole bought the $5 scratch-off ticket at the Winners Food Mart on North Madison Boulevard in Roxboro.
He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $138,501.
Carolina Black launched in May with five top prizes of $200,000. One top prize remains.
Ticket sales from games like Carolina Black made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million for the state last year. For details on how more than $14.1 million in lottery funds has made a difference in Person County, click on the “For Education” section of the lottery’s website.
