Kenneth Phillips of Hudson had luck on his side when he won a $141,484 Cash 5 jackpot.
Phillips beat odds of one in 749,398 to win Sunday’s drawing.
He bought the $1 Quick Pick ticket at Smoker Friendly on Pinewood Plaza Drive in Granite Falls.
Phillips claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $98,333.
