RALEIGH – A lucky ticket sold in the small town of Williamston won a big $670,292 jackpot in Friday’s Carolina Cash 5 drawing.
The store where the winning ticket was sold, the Williamston Family Fare on West Main Street, is about 27 miles northeast of Greenville.
The winning numbers in the drawing were 11-12-23-28-41.
Whoever won the jackpot has 180 days to claim the prize in Raleigh at lottery headquarters, which moved earlier this month to its new location at 2728 Capital Boulevard.
Nightly Carolina Cash 5 drawings are held at 11:22 p.m. Jackpots start at $50,000 and grow until one or more tickets beat odds of 1 in 749,398 to match all five numbers. Tickets cost $1.
Starting July 1 through the end of the month, the starting Cash 5 jackpot will double to $100,000. The Cash 5 $100K Days promotion means that a Cash 5 ticket for any drawing in the month of July will have the chance to win at least $100,000.
Ticket sales make it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for education. To see how the funds support specific programs in every county, visit nclottery.com and click on the “For Education” page.
