Robert Shuffler III of Raleigh got the week off to a good start Monday after he won $100,000 playing $4,000,000 Platinum Payout.
Shuffler bought the $20 scratch-off at the Hilburn Exxon on Hilburn Drive in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $69,374.
The $4,000,000 Platinum Payout ticket launched in September 2016 with three top prizes of $4 million and five prizes of $1 million. Two top prizes and three $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.
Ticket sales from instant games make it possible for the lottery to raise more than half a billion dollars a year for education. For details on how lottery funds have made a difference in Wake County, click on the “For Education” section of the lottery’s website.
