Alexander Dove of Mebane is the first player to win a big prize playing the new $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler game.
Dove won $100,000 after he bought the $20 scratch-off ticket at the Whistle Express on West Main Street in Haw River.
He claimed his prize Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $69,507.
The game launched earlier this month with three top prizes of $4 million, six prizes of $1 million and six prizes of $100,000. All $4 million and $1 million prizes remain. Five $100,000 prizes remain.
Ticket sales from games like $4,000,000 Diamond Dazzler made it possible for the lottery to raise more than $600 million for the state last year.
