Brenda Wall of Mount Gilead said a lucky feeling led her to a $200,000 lottery prize.

“I rarely play the lottery,” Wall said. “I can count the number of times I’ve bought a ticket on one hand. I just felt lucky, so I decided to get a ticket.”

The home healthcare worker’s lucky feeling happened Saturday when she stopped at the Tobacco Outlet on West Spring Street in Troy. While there, she bought a Power 5s ticket.

“I didn’t know what I was seeing at first,” Wall said. “I had to get someone else to tell me what I won.”

Wall claimed her prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $141,501. Wall said she doesn’t have any plans for the money yet.

“It’s still surreal,” Wall said. “I never thought I’d be in this situation, so I never thought about what I’d do.”

The $5 game launched in August with five top prizes of $200,000. One top prize remains.
