Sabrina Lynch of Rocky Mount is feeling lucky after winning the top prize of $200,000 playing Lucky 7 Bonus.
“I’ve won before,” said Lynch. “But it’s been a while, and nothing this big.”
Lynch was hanging out with her family when she realized she had won. Her cousin had gone to the Family Mini Mart on South 1st Street in Nashville to purchase different lottery games so they could all play together.
“I was scratching and I saw my numbers matching,” she said. “When I scratched off the prize underneath, at first I thought I won $200. But then I kept scratching and I started seeing the other zeros and I couldn’t believe it.”
Lynch claimed her prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh on Wednesday. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $141,501. She says she plans to use the money to take her family on a trip.
“We don’t know where we’re going yet,” said Lynch. “But we’re going somewhere!”
The Lucky 7 Bonus game started in April with five top prizes of $200,000. Two top prizes remain.
