Angelina Davis Samuel of Fayetteville is celebrating after winning $4 million playing 100X The Cash.
Samuel bought the lucky $20 ticket at the Campus Mart on South College Road in Wilmington.
Samuel claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. She had a choice of taking the $4 million as an annuity of $200,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $2.4 million. She chose the lump sum and after tax withholdings took home $1,698,006.
All X The Cash tickets are eligible as entries into second-chance drawings to win big prizes. Players can enter their tickets up until July 31 for the chance to win. The Aug. 7 drawing includes one top prize of $50,000, eight prizes of $5,000, and 25 prizes of $500.
Ticket sales from instant games like 100X the Cash make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $650 million a year for the state. For details on how $22.6 million in lottery funds have made a difference in Cumberland County, visit the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.
