Alvin Kimble Jr. of Asheville said he can open his dream business thanks to a $100,000 lottery prize.
“I’m going to buy a 32 passenger bus with plush seats,” Kimble said. “I own my own cleaning business, but want to start a shuttle business that transports people from Asheville to the casino in Cherokee. I’ve already got the bus picked out.”
The Army veteran’s good fortune happened Thursday morning when he stopped at the Market Center on Hendersonville Road in Asheville and bought a $20 100X The Cash scratch-off ticket.
“When I saw that I won, I was in shock,” Kimble said. “I started shaking I was so excited. I came straight to Raleigh.”
Kimble claimed his prize Thursday afternoon at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $70,756.
“I’m not just lucky,” Kimble said when he got the check. “I’m blessed.”
