A second-chance for luck just paid off for Olusola Jeje of Greensboro when his entry into a 2021 Multiply the Cash second-chance drawing won him the $100,000 grand prize.
“I was just so surprised,” said Jeje when he got the notification of his win. “I said, ‘Oh my God, this is good.’”
Jeje said he likes second-chance drawings because he gets another shot at winning with the same scratch-off. All Multiply the Cash tickets currently on sale are eligible for the next second-chance drawing.
His entry was chosen from 22,219,972 entries in the Oct. 6 drawing. Winners of second-chance drawings receive a phone call or email notifying them that they won.
Jeje claimed his prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after federal and state tax withholdings, took home $70,750. He said he planned to invest his winnings.
The last of four 2021 Multiply the Cash second-chance drawing is scheduled for Feb. 9. The drawing offers one $100,000 grand prize, eight $5,000 prizes, and 25 $500 prizes.
