Charles Collier III of Charlotte tried his luck on a $5 Fast Play ticket and won a $126,722 lottery prize.
Collier bought his lucky $5 Blackjack ticket from the Harris Teeter on Carmel Road in Charlotte for the Nov. 26 drawing.
He claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $89,657.
Fast Play’s rolling, progressive jackpot increases with every ticket sold until it is won. A $5 ticket, like Blackjack, receives 50 percent of the jackpot amount. The odds of winning a Fast Play jackpot are 1 in 240,000.
