Moleck Pridgen of Goldsboro scored the latest $200,000 Double Cash Doubler top prize.

“It was just hard to believe,” he recalled of seeing his $200,000 prize revealed. “It was unbelievable.”

Pridgen purchased his ticket from the King's Discount & Deli on East Ash Street in Goldsboro.

He claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $141,501 after required federal and state tax withholdings.

“I normally win $5, $10,” said Pridgen. “I never thought I’d win this much.”

Double Cash Doubler launched in April with six top prizes of $200,000. Three remain to be won.

Ticket sales from scratch-offs like Double Cash Doubler make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $725 million a year for education. For details on how $8 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Wayne County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
