Powerball players in North Carolina, especially those in Brunswick County, should double-check any tickets they have to see if they are the winner of an unclaimed $100,000 prize.
The ticket was purchased for the Saturday, Dec. 19 Powerball drawing and will expire on Friday, June 18. It was sold at the Circle K at 51 River Road in Belville in Brunswick County.
The $3 Power Play ticket matched the numbers on four of the five white balls and the red Powerball. The winning numbers for that Powerball drawing were:
27-32-34-43-52 and 13
“Celebrating the good luck of those who win big prizes is one of the most fun things we do at the lottery,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the lottery. “It would be sad to see a prize like this go unclaimed so we hope the winner comes forward soon. Your big check is waiting for you.”
To claim the $100,000 prize, the ticket must be presented at lottery headquarters in Raleigh by 5 p.m. on June 18. This deadline ends the 180-day period for winners to claim prizes from the Dec. 19 drawing.
To help find the winner, the Education Lottery and Circle K posted a banner about the unclaimed $100,000 prize at the store and the lottery will post alerts on its website and social media channels.
