Jarius Outen of Durham found himself the latest winner of a $100,000 Ultimate 7’s prize.
He purchased his lucky $20 ticket from the Duke Street Family Fare on North Duke Street in Durham.
Outen claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and took home $70,756 after required federal and state tax withholdings.
Ultimate 7’s launched in May with four top prizes of $2 million and eight $100,000 prizes. Two $2 million and four $100,000 prizes remain to be won.
Ticket sales from scratch-off games make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million per year for education. For details on how $12.8 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Durham County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
