Paul Blackburn of Lancaster, S.C., entered a second-chance drawing and won a $100,000 prize.
The Jan. 5 Millionaire Maker second-chance drawing awarded one top prize of $1 million and one prize of $100,000. There were more than 1.4 million entries in the drawing.
The drawing was the second of three second-chance drawings in the Millionaire Maker game. The date of the third drawing has not been set but it will also include a top prize of $1 million and a $100,000 prize. Any Millionaire Maker scratch-off ticket is eligible for the drawing.
Blackburn claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,010.
Ticket sales from scratch-offs make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million a year for education. For details on how money raised by the lottery made a difference in North Carolina in 2020, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
