Glynis Bell of Winston Salem tried her luck on a $5 scratch-off and won the top prize in a new lottery game.

Bell bought her lucky Ruby Red 7's ticket from Circle K on West Clemmonsville Road in Winston Salem. She arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to collect her prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $142,021.

Ruby Red 7's debuted this month with six $200,000 prizes. Five $200,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

Ticket sales from scratch-offs make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $2.5 million a day on average for education. For details on how $21.8 million raised by the lottery made a difference in Forsyth County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
