The Powerball jackpot just crossed into the top 10 in the game’s history as it checks in at $638 million for Monday’s drawing.
A winner tonight could claim the prize as a $638 million annuity or $304.2 million in cash.
Tonight’s $638 million jackpot stands at No. 10 on the list of largest Powerball jackpots in history. Powerball has gone 25 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.
“Monday’s jackpot marks the third time already this year that we have seen a top 10 Powerball jackpot,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Big jackpots like this provide excitement to North Carolinians dreaming of winning a life-changing prize. Good luck tonight.”
Even though nobody won the jackpot in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, two tickets in North Carolina matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The wins occurred:
• At the Friends Mart on Proctor Street in Zebulon
• At the Drop-In on West Main Street in Forest City
.
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
Ticket sales from draw games make it possible for the lottery to raise $2.5 million a day on average for education. For details on how lottery funds have made a difference in all of North Carolina’s 100 counties, click on the “Impact” section of the lottery’s website.
