The Mega Millions jackpot keeps on climbing as it stands at $420 million for Tuesday’s drawing.
A winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $420 million jackpot as an annuity or $191.7 million in cash.
Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, North Carolina players continue taking home other big prizes playing Mega Millions. One lucky player matched four white balls and the Mega Ball in Friday’s drawing to win $10,000. The ticket was purchased at the Food Lion on North Bridge Street in Elkin.
“Friday marked the third straight Mega Millions drawing with a $10,000 winner in North Carolina,” said Mark Michalko, chief executive officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We love seeing all these nice wins and we hope to see the biggest win of all here tonight. Good luck.”
Nationally, the Mega Millions game has delivered three jackpot winners so far this year. The most recent win occurred in Texas with an $810 million jackpot on Sept. 10.
The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
Players can buy Mega Millions tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
