Mega Millions and Powerball players in North Carolina can have fun this weekend playing for jackpots that total $763 million.
A Mega Millions winner tonight would have the choice of taking home the $457 million jackpot as an annuity or $216.8 million in cash.
A Powerball winner on Saturday would have the choice of taking home the $306 million jackpot as an annuity or $147.8 million in cash.
“It’s always exciting when both jackpots get on a roll at the same time,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We would love to see a lucky North Carolinian win one of those big prizes this weekend. Good luck.”
Even though both jackpots remain up for grabs, two lucky tickets in North Carolina matched four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing:
• A $3 ticket, bought using Online Play in Hickory, won $30,000 when the 3X megaplier hit.
• A $2 ticket, purchased at Vraj on North Louisburg Road in Spring Hope, won $10,000.
The odds of matching four white balls and the yellow Mega Ball are 1 in 931,000.
Players can buy Mega Millions and Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.nclottery.com, or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.
The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
