Kenny Jones of Havelock took a chance on a $20 scratch-off and won a $100,000 prize.
Jones bought his lucky Mega 7’s ticket from the Handy Mart on U.S. 70 in Newport where he works. He bought his ticket from a clerk when he was not working.
He arrived on Monday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $71,506.
Mega 7’s debuted in October 2022 with four $2 million prizes and eight $100,000 prizes. One $2 million prize and one $100,000 prize remain to be claimed.
