North Carolina Powerball players can try their luck at winning the fifth largest prize in Powerball history on Saturday with a $935 million jackpot up for grabs.
A winner Saturday could claim the jackpot as a $935 million annuity or $452.3 million in cash. The Powerball jackpot has gone 37 straight drawings since a New Year’s Day jackpot win in Michigan.
“As the Powerball jackpot nears $1 billion, it’s important that players remember there are nine different ways to win,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We would love to see a jackpot win but we’ve seen lots of other nice wins recently in North Carolina so check your tickets carefully after Saturday’s drawing.”
Check out these numbers on how Powerball affects North Carolinians:
• 50,058: The total number of winning tickets in Wednesday’s drawing
• $17.6 million: The estimated amount raised for education on the current Powerball run
Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website or the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
