Donald Chenier of Sanford tried his luck on a $5 scratch-off and won a $100,000 top prize.
Chenier bought his lucky Money Bag ticket from the Circle K on N.C. 87 South in Cameron.
He arrived at lottery headquarters to claim his prize and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $71,501.
The Money Bag game debuted in December with four $100,000 top prizes. One $100,000 prize remains to be claimed.
