Money raised by the North Carolina Education Lottery makes it easier for families in our great state to afford a college education.
Just last year, the lottery contributed more than $43.9 million in need-based scholarships and grants, totaling 69,503 awards.
To take advantage of the financial support available, the first step is to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
You can get help completing that form this Saturday as part of FAFSA Day.
Our friends at the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority and College Foundation, Inc. are offering free events from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at local college campuses across North Carolina to help you understand and complete your FAFSA.
Students and parents who need assistance are welcome to attend. Find a map of participating schools and steps you need to take before you arrive here.
