Franklin County woman enjoys $100,000 jackpot win

Robin Casey of Louisburg tried her luck on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $100,000 jackpot.

Casey bought her ticket from The Store on U.S. 401 South in Louisburg. Her ticket matched all five numbers in the Nov. 10 drawing to win the jackpot. The odds of matching numbers on all five balls are 1 in 962,598.

She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Friday and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $71,500.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App. Monday’s jackpot is $100,000.
