Greensboro woman celebrates $436,199 jackpot win

Siah Hayes of Greensboro tried her luck on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $436,199 jackpot Tuesday night.

Hayes bought her lucky Quick Pick ticket using Online Play. She matched all five numbers to win the jackpot. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 962,598.

She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Thursday in Raleigh and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $311,885.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where you have the option of buying your tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Friday’s jackpot is $120,000.
