Wake County man wins first $100,000 prize in new game

Javier Justiniano of Fuquay-Varina took a chance on a $20 scratch-off and won the first $100,000 prize in a new lottery game.

Justiniano bought his lucky 100X The Cash ticket from 3 Brothers on East Main Street in Boonville.

He arrived at lottery headquarters Thursday to claim his prize and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $71,756.

The 100X The Cash game debuted this week with four top prizes of $2 million and six prizes of $100,000. Four $2 million prizes and five $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.

2 back-to-back $100k (see 1/6/25) in Wake County. Just like a couple of years ago when Wake had 3 in a row large Cash 5 winners. Nothing random about NCEL's drawings with stats to prove it.NC Lottery

It's not easier to win the lottery in one of those places, but we generally see more winners over time in areas with larger populations, simply because there are more folks taking a chance to win there. If you moved there and played the lottery there, your odds of winning would be the same, you'd just be playing the lottery with a lot more people around you! No matter where you live you have the same chance to beat the odds as anyone else - it just takes a whole lot of luck!
